Maya or 3Ds Max?

After (almost) mastering Zbrush sculpting, applying for job at gaming company, was told that my gorgeous, detailed sculpts were too high poly for games, &^%$#*, so need to start with a low poly figure in Maya or 3DsMax or Blender, take those into Zbrush for mapping, then back into wherever for rigging.

So, I downloaded Blender (oh, no, a whole new set of hot keys, my aching brain!), but am having trouble exporting back and forth. The gamer recommended 3Ds Max, but the GoZ function works with Maya, so before I invest thousands of $$$, which one do I want, or is it possible to work with Blender?

Problem with Blender: export .obj file from Zbrush, when in Blender it is in Object Mode and gives no choice for Edit or Sculpt mode. Blah.

Besides, the company I want to work with uses Autodesk, and cannot give me advice about Blender. But the say Max is better for what I want to do. Does Zbrush interact with 3Ds Max?

If I could find this out before the end of the week, I will have a job! Thankyou.

Yes, GoZ works fine with Max. I don’t know about Blender though.
