Maya obj to ZBrush problem

Hey all, I am having a few problems with my first time using ZBrush and I got past a them fairly easy (exploding extraordinary verts) but this is just driving me BONKERS, nothing I do to it seems to fix the problem. Not sure if its fairly common, but my topology is only visible from inside the mesh when I import OBJs from Maya into Zbrush.

Your normals are inverted. Turn on Tool>Display Properties>Double to show the polygons as double-sided so that it looks normal.

Your in Maya go to Display->Polygons->Face Normals. Its a good idea to check this often. Also if you are running the latest couple of versions you can hit 3 and if everything is smoothing properly this can be a good tell that your normals arent all facing the right way.
