Maya kill my work ! Stupid quick little question...

So I’ve been forced to work on Maya for my uni work and it just kills my workflow. Never had that kind of problem with max.

Hers whats going on. I made model in max, UV it, export to zbrush. scupt/text, then export to maya, or max cant remember. I’ve skinned model etc etc, but now I have to rearrange UV(just move them in space, no editing.) I did that > export to zbrush. BUM model exploded. I try also to move it 1st to max and then zbrush but same. I can even open it in max copy UVW> Past it to zbrush model(thet i inpoered from zbrush) but if ill export it my model still explode.

I believe its the VERTEX ORDER that got changed in maya for some very important reason just to piss me off so, how do I tell maya to not change any vertex’es but only export as it was with rearranged UVW MAPS?

It would help if you specified the Maya version. But as a general rule there is an import setting in Maya called “Create Multiple Objects”. That needs to be set to false.

Thanx for ur time aurick and sorry for spaming.

I got it to work but I had lots of problems with it tbh. Basically the biggest one was the exploding mesh + whats weird UV smooth groups. What was happening with UV smooth groups is that when I render texture there was no smooth between faces, so it all was like separated model. Like normals were not averaged between each other.

The fix was pretty simple… Zbrush>Max>Fix>Zbrush>Max>and at the end back to Maya where I copy UV…
