Maya Help

As I have tried to learn more about character creation, I have come to to the texture maps and rendering portion. I have learned that many use Maya to render so I figured this is the way to go. I have tried to research tutorials on this subject but its hard to find.

I was wondering anybody could help me figure out how you apply all your texture maps (normal, displacement, color, etc.) in Maya and then render it out. I know how to export the model, and i know how to export the maps out. I just don’t know how to get the finished result in Maya.
