Maya Fur - Mapping value greater than 1

I have posted everywhere and not a single response. So I figured I would give the ZBC forums a try.

I am using Maya Fur, and would like to use a map to control the length. The problem is that the values only go from 0-1. How can I make it so my white value equals something greater than 1?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I have been fighting this issue for days now.

I would suggest that you use the Shave and Haircut Plugin. It is much more intuitive than maya hair. You can control hair length by a texture map.

You can either use the global scale in the fur options, or under details there’s a section for length with a map multiplier and map offset.

Thank you both for the reply. This is the only place I have got a response, and although it took a bit I really appreciate it.

I ended up using the global scale multiplier to fix the issue, however I will give shave and haircut a try. Thanks for the advice!
