Maya 2015 and Zbrush Blendshape Plugin

Hey all.

I’ve submitted a ticket to pixologic for this question but since time is running out for the project, I thought I’d post on here as well.

I recently updated to Maya 2015 and have Zbrush 4R6. The Blendshape plugin is great, however, after I sculpted all my blends and have them on their own layers, I then press the “export blendshapes” button and it goes through its normal process, however, instead of inserting it into the currently open 2015 file where it should, it opens another occurrence of Maya, but not 2015, rather 2014. Is there a way to repoint it to the newer Maya and the file that is open?

Thanks!

Sean

Click on your Zbrush preferences and go down to GoZ. In there you will find “path to Maya”. Click on that it will show you the versions of Maya installed on your computer. Select the version you would like to use. Hope this helps.

That helped. Yeah I finally found it under the preferences>GoZ and did like you suggested…I actually went ahead and updated all my paths since I upgraded to 2015.

On another note, I found out that even though the blend shape plugin works, it will erase any prior skin weighting. so I had to repaint my weights as well as bind that skin :(.

I didn’t realize by it importing itself and setting it up, that it erased the prior skin cluster…

Moral of the story, do the blendshapes before skin weights and bind LOL.
