Wow!! Looks powerful !!! I like him:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Great Work There!!..

He’s beautiful …wish I’d made him!

Hey man I’ve been meaning to thank you for this quick tutorial! Really helped me get a handle on Transparency in ZBrush. I’ve been directing others to this thread when the opportunity presents itself. Thanks again man!

Hi maxter,
Very inspiring Sculpts on your Thread.
And Thanks for sharing the Trick and Tips too…
Love to follow you.

Great eye tutorial Fabio.

A few questions…

  1. After creating the eye structure (comprised of these 3 sub tools), how does one go about moving them as a grouping in place?
  2. How do you rotate the eyeball around its center pivot? Transpose tools really don’t help here, and I’ve tried doing it through the deformation tab w/no success.
  3. I’m assuming you save out the eyeball as a Ztool - (which I’ve done myself) How do I correctly bring in my head geometry to apply the eyes? Do I need to load up the eyeball first, then append the head? Since my eyeball is 3 sub tools, how do I GROUP them to duplicate and offset for the pairing?

Thanks,

-Steve

Hey Maxter, I have another question about the materials being used. When you say basic grey material with wax preview, I assume you are referring to the default BasicMaterial with no adjustments. What are you setting the Wax Modifiers for the BasicMaterial to?

Thanks for the info!

Hi everyone, its been a long time since last post, just been some busy around here:(… sorry for late reply.

Thanks Steve! here are my replies…

1)using transpose master
2)masking one eyeball to protect it, then I use transpose tools to rotate and move the other one.
3)loading the head first and then appending the eyeballs, subtool by subtool.

@skdzines: yes, its the standard basic material with a wax strenght set to 25

Last week Ive been doing some tests on skin shading and rendering in ZBrush. Im looking for something close to the output in other rendering engines. Thats pretty hard but I think you can achieve very good results.

I got inspired by Edward, the troll from Hansel & Gretel movie for this. Everything was done in zbrush… unsing polypaint, materials for skin and eyes, and fibermesh for the hair elements. The final result is one pass rendered in ZBrush… no comp, just a few bpr filters added. Please, let me know your thoughts.

the render came out nice! i like it! what bpr filters did you use/how are you getting that hazy/bluishgreenish look?
amazing work keep it up!

wow! nice render in-deed

Holy smoke… Wonderful work, Just sublime. You had me at your Thark bust and tutorial. Now I am all in. Top row for me. Zbrush is a wonderful tool, but the artist makes all of the magic. Damn fine work. I have a list of Zbrush masters that I wish I could just jack into their brains and absorb their amazing abilities. You are on the list for sure now. If you happen to notice an older dude with a billy goat’s beard creeping up behind you, just ignore him and the portable brain drainer in his hands. You won’t feel or remember a thing. Scouts honor.

Inspiring !!!

great work :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

One pass render in Zbrush? With that level of realism? Stunning. Simply stunning.

Ummm… moderators… I think you’ll agree, this means TOP ROW!

Wonderful work.

… art work, very impressive, great emotion too. This is a testament to your skills and a great example use of ZBrush’s Renderer and complete toolset.
Congratulations Fabio, this should be top row. Thank you.

Now that is what I like to see. Sharing is awesome. i will be studying this intently. Thanks for putting this together.

That video was great. This entire thread makes me re-think my desire for a raytrace renderer in Zbrush. If Zbrush can produce renders this beautiful, who needs raytracing?

Marvelous!
