Max Morphing targets

I’m having problems in 3d max 9 with morph targets from Zbrush.

When I import my OBJ from Zbrush into Max, and set the morph targets up, when I scub the morph value the whole mesh translates up (as well as the facial morphs I created in Zbrush).

I’ve reset the pivots, reset the Xforms, and tried coping the vert. selcetion and pasting it to the morph targets (as indicated in a thread for someone with a simialr problem). These havent seemed to work.

Does anyone have any ideas, links, or solutions as to how to go about fixing this problem?

Have you tried Aligning the imported obj’s pivot to the max object’s pivot, using Affect Pivot Only? (Making sure you have Pivot on , on the Align option). Of course both objects have to be in the same position to start with.

Also, try deleting the morph modifier and re-applying it. I noticed when I had this problem that the modifer doesn’t “catch up” if you like, when changes to the pivots are done. Hope all this helps

So I think I figured this one out (kinda):

(I’m not sure if I did things differently the becasue I thought I tired this the first many times around, so I’ll note all the steps, incase something that seems insignificant was the fix.)

One at a time :
I brough in the morph target into max first. I made sure the pivots were at 0,0,0.
Then I reset the xforms (using the modifier stack)

Then I hid the mesh, and brought in the another, rise and repeat (note all morph targets are ontop of eachother but hidden)

lastly I brough in the base mesh, and did the same with the pivots, and resets (everything is ontop of another, all morphs are hidden).

Applied the morpher, set the targets. It worked.
I tested it with moving and the morphs and such. It worked (i’m not complaining)

I’m not sure if them being on top of eachother had something to do with it or the order in which I brought them in… but it worked!! thanks for the feedback!

There is a script for max, in case anyone has this problem (thanks the suggestion from ‘Vig’ from Polycount.com) in case anyone else has this problem:
