The best utility for a long time. it’s been a long time coming.

It has certainly been a very sad sight as I have tried to struggle with the old material pack in Zb2. It usually entailed viewing 100 psd thumnails in an image view while trying to match up the numbers on the material. But this didn’t transfer the colour information.

If anyone could be so kind…
Hi, Mattybyng here, I was just viewing your collection of materials, and have also downloaded them  they’re fantastic.

But I am also interested in making some of my own materials for personal use, I have constantly tried to similar effects to your materials.

But I can’t.

Do you rekon you could post tutorials or give some guidence on making materials…?

matty…check out the zbclassroom…there is a pdf on materials that should get you on your way to understanding them better. Also if you had downloaded zb 1.55 demo to try out zbrush it came with a manual that explains materials as well.

Where is this ZBCLASSROOM?

 Hi all.
Thanks so much Aurick, for a beautiful upgrade.
Me, I have been using the old variant as a plugin, activated by
Shift-M.
This one is better, since it views much more materials in the same window.
Only, going into the Material pallete and then descending down to see the knob to open the Pack takes more time, than if one could use Shift-some letter of the keyboard.
Please, could you arrange this very plugin so that the window with materials opens by combination of keys?

Thanks again.

Anatom,

Open your defaultzscript.txt (located in the ZScripts folder) in a text editor and add this line :

[ISetHotkey,Material:MatPack:MaterialPack2,365]

Be sure to put it before the [PD] (which should be the last command). Save the file and restart ZBrush. You should now be able to launch the new Material Pack with the hotkey SHIFT+M.

Note: although you can use this method for assigning hotkeys to many ZBrush buttons the button must ā€˜exist’ on start up for it to work. In other words, if a button only exists when (for example) you have a polymesh in edit mode then there will be an error. The numerical value for the hotkey is got from pressing the key combination on the keyboard and noting the ā€˜View Keyboard Status’ slider in Preferences>Utilities.

Oh thank you so terribly much dear Marcus!
I did what’s been advised and all worked at once.
I do just hope this plugin will function in newer versions of Zbrush.

And I am definite all Zbrush folks will prefer
Shift-M keys to spread the Material Pack!

This addition will help to mitigate the nervous breakdown when awaiting the next Zbrush!

:frowning: hmm I put it in my startup dir but it does not show up :frowning:

It doesn’t go in the ZStartup folder. It goes in ZStartup\ZPlugs. If you don’t have a ZPlugs folder, create one.

ok i put it there but it still does not show up  Even not when i load it as z-script…

try reunzipping it in the startup/zplugs folder…it’s possible you missed a file if you just moved it.

and you need to look in the materials menu…that is where you will find it.

Seems like Pixelsoul did not organize the materials within a separate Directory but poured in all of them into Zplug.

Anatom:rolleyes:

I’m getting an error upon attempting to unzip the download using Stuffit Expander 10.0 on the Mac. Anyone else having problems?

(EDIT)I used the built-in BOMArchiveHelper instead. Worked fine. Stuffit expander is little buggy, I guess.

May I suggest putting this in the top row? It took me quite awhile to find this just now (searched for ā€œmaterial packā€ instead of ā€œmaterialpackā€ doh!)

hi bill…a little secret…shhh don’t tell anyone

if ya click the featured gallery link up top …you can quickly find stuff like this that were top row or useful like plugins and stuff!:stuck_out_tongue:

hahaha and what do I get for being a smart ass?

I find this ain’t in the gallery…or I didn’t have my glasses on hahaha dohhhhhh.

Ok I’ll bend over now and take it like a man…go on kick me!
