material coloring problem

Hello everyone,
i was watching a video about how to make a helmet in Zclassroom , i made a helmet , but i cannot understand why when i want to paint material and color , when i change material , it changes the material of all model :confused:
In the video it shows that when the material is selected , you can draw with it , but it doesnt change whole model’s material.
I do everything needed:
I select a brush , disable Zadd , Click on mrgb, but it doesn’t work :confused:
Anyone can help me?

Hi, make sure M is selected , RGB and MRGB is off , have the subtool or object you want to apply the material too active and go to color -> Fill object to apply the currently selected material to it, afterwards if you change to a different material, the object’s material will not change with it.

If you do want your object to take on any material selected again, fill object it with the flatshader first.

Objects always start out in a sort of adaptive state, where they will take on any color/material you select, unless they have been assigned a certain color/material.
