Matcap to Texture

I picked up ZBrush for the first time with version 4 and have just been checking out this tutorial:

The tutorial is also in the Z classroom. The problem that I am running into begins after I load the texture with Image Plane. Once I change to edit mode and click “Make Poly Mesh 3d” nothing happens. I have tried manually loading the texture and displacement maps into the slots at the right in the new meshes parameters roll out, but changing the matcaps doesn’t do anything. Is there a different work flow for ZBrush 4, or am I doing something wrong? I would be most appreciative of any assistance in resolving this issue. Thanks,

Hmmm, I’ve found that if I grab the doc after manually loading the disp and tx maps onto the plane and then crop and fill with said grabbed doc it will render a preview with the matcap that I have selected at that point. I suppose this solves my problem, but if there is a better way to do it, I would love to know.
