Matcap issue

Hey all,

I’m finally getting around to really learning Zbrush and had a quick question. I have a file with multiple subtools and with some of the subtools I ended up displacing using a previously created 2D map and applying the displacement to the mesh. The issue I am having is that for these subtools, they are appearing white-ish in comparison to everything else in the scene. This is the case no matter what material I apply. I was wondering if this has to do with applying a displacement and if there is a simple way to unify the material (and it’s properties) being applied to all subtools.

When you are working with a displacement map, zBrush automatically turns on the ‘texture’ node on the subtool and fills it with whatever the primary color is. You can use the FillColor in the texture panal on each subtool to get a consistent color. Or apply the displacement map and turn off texture.

I don’t knof if there is a way to unify all the textures, but you can shift-click on the paint brush icon next to any subtool to globally enable / disable polypaint.

Bingo…was the white texture I created when I first generated the displacement map. Thanks so much that was really bugging me. : )
