MaskRect - Just Want On One Side - How? 4R5

Hi there, yep a newbie question!! Lol.

I’m using the MaskRect brush in 4R5, but I seem to get a mirror image on the back of my object.

When I use an Extract, I get it on the front and back of a vest I have made.

Now, I just want to have the extract work on the front, as I want this as a control panel detail.

The only way I have got rid of the mirror mask is to go around the back and use the Ctrl + Alt option to take off the mask.

Obviously there must be a way of just getting this to work on a single side???

That’s how it’s done. Lassos and rectangle selections cut straight through like that.

If you absolutely needed to do this, you could try using Projection Master to drop the model to the canvas, paint a solid black color on it using the drag rect stroke, and then pick it back up without double-sided or fade options, then covert the polypaint to a mask.
