maskpen + alpha = blurry edges

hey there!

I’m using the maskpen tool + an alpha (my logo) with the dragrect mode. The problem is that my mask is a bit blurry on the outside of my alpha because of its focal shift. How can i change its focal shift?? I’m sure it doesnt come from my alpha, it’s 100% pur black and white. I could do it by using the “mask by alpha” but i want it on a smaller size.

Plus, how do you create a shell with zbrush? I heard about the morph target method but is there another proper way?

thank you!

While holding down Ctrl, go to ‘Brush > Curve’ and make the curve so it is flat along the top. Best if you just fill the whole curve icon with the curve.

thanks zber2!!! really appreciate it

Anyway idea for the shell?

You can use ‘Tool > Subtool > Extract’, turning off ‘Double’ and using a negative thickness value. You can also use Tool > Geometry > DynaMesh > Create Shell’. See the bottom of this page (Creating a Shell) on how it’s done.
