Masking primitives but not Mesh's?

Hi to all,

I just wanted to know if there was some kind of work-around in using the Masking ‘extras’ available for Primitives to be used on a standard mesh.

I’m trying to create a Semi-Non organic looking character, but I would like to utilized the Row/Col/Etc… tools.

Thanks in advance.

Those options are only possible because primitives have mathematically predictable polygon structure.

ZBrush does have a way to mask based on a model’s edge loops, though. Turn on TransPose and go to paint a mask. It’ll use the edge loops to try and guide the mask.

Thanks, that works really well.

I wanted to ask another question (on the same topic of course).

Is there any ‘other’ tool that might also help in masking in a more orderly fashion?

Using the Pen Tablet with the normal methodology, things can get wobbly, using Transpose, I get large parts while clean.

So I was wondering if there a way I could get ‘straight’ or ordered masks and in small segments?

Yeah, yeah, I’m a newbie…

Oh, and thanks in advance.
