When I want to make edge loops and want to get rid of the body and keep the head, I use Ctrl Shift and make a square around the body, the body stay and the part that I did not select is gone. I want to mask the body make disappear and keep the head, am I missing something or is this different in zbrush 4?
Hold down Ctrl & Shift then draw your square then press Alt to turn square red and hide that part.
Had to manuver the fingers fast, but I got it. at my age 73 it is hard to move them, I can jump at my age, but not that high hee hee
Once you draw your rectangle, without taking your finger off the mouse button, you can take your fingers off of Ctrl & Shift. At that point you can scale the rectangle by moving your mouse or hold down the spacebar to move it. Then you can press Alt.
I would think it would be simpler, but my tutorial never said to do what you said, that is why I was baffled…but I am cooking now danke
When you are masking using the lasso brush and you let go of the LMB and you have your selection left in scene. How can you add and subract from that selection if you have missed or selected extra peices?

I presume you are talking about the Selection brushes. You can use "Grow’ and ‘Shrink’ in Tool > Visibility.
