Mask to faces instead of spraycan style?

I want to limit my mask strokes to the geometry I’m painting. So it won’t magically bleed onto the next finger. Is there a way to do this?

I’m sure there’s a way to do this hidden somewhere.

hide the other geometry

“ctrl+shift, drag a marque, release shift, release click”

topological masking while in transpose mode

That sounds more like it spaceboy. Where would I find such a mode and tool? I spent some time searching with no luck.

make friends with the wiki, take it home with you, love it, care for it and the rewards you’ll reap will take you into the z dimension.

there are also various vid tuts on the forum here and there

Thanks spaceboy that works beautifully.

Unfortunately I don’t have time to print the wiki and read it with my coffee or something. I wish I could. So I have to resort to search engines which don’t often turn anything useful up.

When I rotate my model it down-res’s during the rotation. Anyone know where I can disable that?
