'Evening all . . .
Anybody interested in a “Marble Texture” created in PhotoShop? It’s a completely tilable texture.
If so, let me know & I’ll give it to Digits & Kathy to post on their sites.
Have a good one . . . Mark.

looks fantastico, Kruzr! please upload it to the resources-sites! i know it’s off-topic but could you tell us which way you do textures in PS whenever you find time to do so? though by reading the new manual i understood the tilde-z-way to do neato tiletextures inhouse zbrush for the 1st time, but i’d love to know how you do it in PS, too!
All you need is some fruit to put in there, as in the fruit of your labor Amazing texture! I am gone for the weekend, but I would love it if you would send it on down and I will post it on Monday @ Z-Place
Thanks buddy for your generosity!
I’m Back!
Should I just grab this one to make it available at Z Place? or do you have a higher resolution one? Also, would you mind if I also posted your wonderful Weave Texture as well?
'Morning Digits . . .
Sorry I haven’t sent you the “Marble” texture yet, I forgot!!! :o :o :o I’ll get it to you as soon as I’m done reading the rest of the posts. Ya’know, sometimes my mind is zooming at about 80 miles-per-hour, but my body still chugs along at about 35. Heheheh. Yes, you can post the “Weave” pattern as well.
Talk to’ya later & have a good one . . . Mark.
This is a great Marble texture. Good job.
If anyone is intersted, I have a Photoshop action that will create marble like this, though not tilable. You will have to do this yourself later (I can post the procedures if you like as I know Kruzr could). But the results are slightly different everytime.

Thanks Kruzr, all posted and awaiting download at Z-Place!
Kaz, I for one would be interested in this technique, that would be super kool of ya
Yes, Kaz! Please post that action. It would be appreciated.
ola, Kaz!
thank you for taking time to put up the PS-action!
here’s my report:
the action loads fine into my PS 5.5 but… at one point it starts looking for an object “layer “background”” which it can’t find… (german PS installed… the only layer i can see is layer 1… should it be named “background” (i thought so, but it did not help)? when i tell PS to go on it does so but in the end there is a dialogue telling me that option “farbton und sättigung” (i dont know if “saturation” is the right translation, the usual shortcut is: command+U) is momentarily not available… and it is greyed out when i went looking for it. in between a customized box shows up, telling me that the next window will be curves… curves show up properly, i just wondered because i had already manipulated the same curves during running the action a few times before your window showed up for the first time!?
hmmm, i think that i’ll install an international version of PS next time and i am going to analyze the steps showing up in the action-window so i might be able to PS-marble later on…!
muchas gracias anyway!
juandel,
This can happen when the image is CMYK. There are certain menu items and filters that only available in RGB mode. So, when you first run the action and you get the dialogue box for a new document, be sure that RGB is selected.
I wonder when ZuZu will move this thread…
Kaz, thank you very much for the way-cool PS action!
Ha! Got my reply in before this thread got moved!
ola, Kaz!
problem is: i seem to be in RGB-mode (right from the beginning until the end of the action)… that’s my default setting. and i had another look to make sure of it after i had read your first instructionwindow (setting size to inches and all - way cool, i did not even know its posible to implement instructions/dialogues in PS-actions ). to be in RGB-mode was why i was that amazed  to find “saturation” not to be active!
hmmm, still had no time to analyze your action script yet (i had a yummy dinner instead) so its very likely that all of the mentioned problems is juju-homemade
i’ll let you know, moved thread or not!

Hi
Interesting thread!
Texturing can be done by using a textures (as already demonstrated by Kruzr ) as well as by using materials. There is some info about ‘Material-vs-Texture’ in this thread
Thank you Pix, great info. That noise pattern1 material has become one of my favorites!
juandel,
I have not been able to reproduce your problem. Keep me posted, there must be something I did not think of.
I use actions as training tools for my class. So, they contain many prompts to inform the user of the steps they will take and why. This is a great tool for training tutorials. I have not had the chance to use ZScripts yet, but I hope the ability to create pop up dialogue boxes is in there.
Hi Kaz . . .
I just wanted you to know, I downloaded your PhotoShop “Action” earlier this afternoon, & after installation, everything worked as it should on my system. Nice action!
Have a good one . . . Mark.
Kaz, i hope to be able to give you another report after the weekend… i think it is a translation problem as the action ran smoothly on a friends machine with PS english edition. i’ll give your other actions a try and hope to be able to find out what is (or: i am doing) wrong!
