While extracting ambient occlusion map(new from masking in texture map) in Zbrush 4R2, i get a complete black texture.Its showing fine in viewport, but can’t get the output map right, it always comes as total black texture. Does someone have any clue what i am doing wrong. Please help. Thanks.
Try doing a TextureMap: New from UV Check to check for problem areas (the result would show red if there are). Usually blank maps seem to occur when some of the UVs are touching the 0:1 borders; using the default Plane and it’s UVs, for example, would cause a Masking Texture to be pure black or pure white.
Thanks for replying. There are no problem areas in UVs, nor are they touching the borders. polypaint can be extracted without any problem, but cannot extract any masks. Can’t figure out the problem.

Do you get the same result when baking AO through the MME plugin?
If polypaint bakes fine, maybe you could create a temporary black and white set (fill with black, mask by AO, fill with white).
