Mantis: Anatomy studies and sculpture.

I want to share with you some anatomy studies I did some weeks ago.

I did them to try to sculpt in a traditionnal way, and it was very good to sculpt with Zbrush. The only thing who disapoint me is the perspective distortion who is really weird and disturbing. That's the most important thing I would want to see fixed to get an awesome digital sculpting software. Here are the first two models, I was studying the legs and the feet. I don’t plan to texture it for the moment, It was a sculpting exercise.

Hi, just wanted to say i really like your sculpting “experiments”. Saw some nice work on your site too.

You seem to know your way in zbrush so i may be silly for suggesting this but… You know that you can enable perspective in zbrush 3 right? If you work in the rapid UI you can find a button called “persp” on the lower left of the working area and a slider to control the focal length. I usually set mine on 70. If you work with the classic ui its a little bit hidden. You can find the persp button and the focal slider under the “draw” menu. Perhaps you allready know this but just thought i’d share in case you didnt.

Keep up the good work.

Thx 3dioot.
For the perspective slider, yes I know it  .
I tried Marcus_civic trick, to cheat the perspective and getting the same distortion when you get multiple object, but I don’t know what is the resulting focal lenght when you do it.

That’s really disturbing because I was working on a face and after that I added a torso and the face was totally changed because of the perspective.

I’m playing with the focal length slider, but there is nothing good.
The distortion squash your model.
I hope they will fix this with 3.1

Hello Mantis

Welcome in ZBrush Central
I like very much the foot. Very good academic modelling

Best All and Good ZBrush.

great sculpts in your thread Prayingmantis. I like the face specially his lips.
great job

Thx Marc and GI-Joe, I’m happy that you like my works.

Here is an other work I was doing for fun, to do something else than anatomy studies. I think it took me approximativly 2 to 3 hours, I didn’t got any drawing, I was just doodling

Between two translation (I finished to translate the 3.1 documentation for the French community some weeks ago :D) I made some other studies.
Here are they, a moray and a face.
