Mannequins and poseable symetry

Hey Folks…

i am having a problem with this simple thing…i use an existing mannequin, pose it to whatever pose i like then create the skin and start sculpting…MAJOR problem is that Poseable symetry is not working? hope its just me because it will make mannequins pretty useless…

if someone has teh solution to thsi please help

thanks in advance

Try setting the Tool>Adaptive Skin>Density slider to 2 before creating the Adaptive Skin:

  1. After posing the Mannequin, turn off the Tool>Adaptive Skin>Use Classic Skinning button.
  2. Set the Tool>Adaptive Skin>Density slider to 2.
  3. Press the Tool>Adaptive Skin>Make Adaptive Skin button.
  4. Select the new mesh in the Tool palette. Poseable Symmetry should now work.

Hey Marcus,

Thanks for teh tip…this said ive noticed taht in some poses the syjettry axis is lost …what i mea is that teh result adaptive skin mesh has no middle edge loop wich results in an error when topo symmetry scanning…i will send you an image as soon as i can reproduce the problem

cheers

P.

Yeah, you’re right. Sometimes it will pick Z symmetry and sometimes it seems to invent a symmetry all of its own.

I’ll look into it.
