Making two objects interlock ... help?!

I want to 3D print a sculpture of a pig with an apple. I want to keep the pig and the apple as two separate objects for printing. Although i would want them to fit snug together when i put them together again. The belly of the pig and the apple overlap on the inside and i would like make them fit perfectly together. Can i cut out a part of the belly with the help of the shape of the apple?! Any ideas or inputs on this matter are more then welcome.

Thanks!

Duplicate the subtools, and keep the originals untouched. Duplicate them again. Use Dynamesh Subtractionwith one of the duplicate pairs to subtract the overlapping portion of the apple from the Pig, and use the other duplicate pair to subtract the Pig overlap from the apple. You will have two resulting objects that fit together as you describe. If any detail is lost in the dynamesh process, you can project detailfrom the originals.

Thank you very much for the help. Going to get to it right away

Or just use Projection to adjust the pig’s belly to the outside of the apple. No need to dynamesh at all and it’s a quicker process. I would mask everything on the pig except the overlapping part and do a projection to the apple and a quick little smoothing cleanup after.

Thanks as well for the other option. The first suggestion worked like a charm and went fairly quick without any problems. I was looking for ways to split up the model to make molding and assembling it after casting easier. It’s good to know of an alternative way to do it. Still learning a lot about Zbrush
