Making Time For Art. Update3@Page 24, Update2@ Page 11, Update1@ Page 7

hey guys…all of you whining “How can i use this” in my workflow…just give it a rest…chose not to use the new feature…just stop whining… its looking more and more like a mudbox forum on this thread

I love it! And the beauty is, I CAN see it being used in production…Pre-Production! If you can’t see it well, that is why you are where you are. Thank you so much for this. Such a wonderful pre-vis tool to add to Z’s arleady awesome abilities. Love it! :+1:

well said mahlikus…my sentiments exactly

i agree every body has a choice just don’t complain about what is given to you for free some can use the features that will be added and those features that have not shown to the community yet, but im sure you will be blown away by what you haven’t seen yet all the more so…

a thing to is zbrush originally started out very small and in time grew bigger. it was originally a 2.5d illustration package and then they started adding 3d functionality and different brushes and eventually became the sculpting app it is today, and if it had not expanded its self many here in the community would be with out a job. i think you should not bite the very hand that has expanded the 3d industry all the more so and made it that much easier to use…

Totally agree on that limited animation within zbrush is great. Even if it comes out limited at first… The possibilities down the road is what excites me. Animation with pixols? Rigging and weight painting within zbrush, and other such wild imaginings.

i have to question if you ever worked in production. there are uses for something like this… a few of them would be…

when concepting a character you might have to show some life… if i can concept out a character for a bid, or just because i have a job to create something… i might want to show it breathe, or have some hint of life… if i can skip from having to export and create a full out rig to be able to do that, then all the better.

rendering a turntable with animation to make demoreels more effective.

and the last reason… for the pure fun of it. pixologic doesnt cater ONLY to production people. hobbyists are just as important to pixologic as production people are. thats why they try to cater to both and never only to one.

Aaaah, wonderfull. Push that watch to the end of the year 2011! I will hug my mother in law when ZB4 is working on my (Mac)-system. Hurry, she is 86…

Do not take me wrong, again. I AM NOT COMPLAINING.

I am just saying that I do not see any use to what I see here for my day to day work.
On the other hand, I am just saying that I would love some welcome fixes.

Oh another one for UVmaster (wich is an EXCELLENT tool) : to be able to force the seams, not simply suggest them.

You guys at Pixo are nuts! Nice work! can’t wait for Z4… oh wait, I still can’t wait for Z3.5. I assume the mac hold up is for a rewrite in 64 bit? Hope Hope.

I actually have some hope that it will expand to something that can be used as an animation tool professionally. Think about it. They started as 2.5 d, then became the best sculpting/texturing tool. Mudbox was just copying and improving some of its features.

Now if they implement even some basic animation capabilities, imagine what you can do if you could do with its powerful zsketch2+keying shapes. Some interesting stuff there, for no time!

I for once am very glad that zbrush developers are continuing to have that edge and try stuff like this.Thats one of the reasons zbrush is so different and unique to other packages. It’s reinventing.

Some Hair and Fur System would be fun, and some improved retopology tools… Some improvements in the render engine would be awesome too.

This looks like a winner. its amazing to see how powerful ZB has gotten!

Quite possibly, this animation approach could be the seminal stage of a whole new paradigm. Granted it will take some time to mature but could revolutionize the animation industry, just as ZB itself has done…

Liquify and Warp were curiosity features of Photoshop. Trivial “fun toys” to mess around with, oh look we can make funny faces of our relatives and pets…but what use will they have, why did the waste resources on this you heard people crying, And now fast forward to today

Any time you see a high end CG artist giving out their workflow on the record they always talk about liquify and warp or demonstrate how those “curiousity features” are core components during various stages of their workflow from concept and rough draft to finished product being used all along the way.

Use your imagination…if you don’t have one, then you’re in the wrong hobby or vocation I’m sorry to say.

@troy1617 Rabbit Holes! That’s it. Fascinating…now is that potentially paper ready…hm…

HAIR - realistic hair in the Z would be really nice/neat/fantastic?

Hmmmm…knowing Pixologic, I can’t help but think that this simple video is only part of a bigger plan.

Someone said it earlier about forgetting your expectations, I think I’m starting to get it.

ZBrush 4 !!! Cool vids Pixolator! I can’t believe it’s been 10 years! Best of luck on the release.

lol

I agree - pixo should focus on working on other stuff like a better re-top, painting with layers and not needing to have 3 million poly’s to paint properly

also, 64-bit please? we need to get over that 2GB Memory Limit!
