Making the 3 axis visible / changing how much F fills the view? (newbie Qs)

Hi there, still getting to grips with Zb and was wondering about the following things:

  1. I am used to seeing and would find it useful to be able to see the tri-axis marker on screen all the time. I know that I can use the floor and if positioned correctly I can see the axis. Was wondering if it is possible to always have an on screen tri-axis indicator aka Modo etc.

  2. When I press F my item always fills the screen a little too much - is there anywhere I can say not to zoom in so close when I fill the frame? (suspect I might be missing something more fundamental and that there is a reason it does this!). For example could I have F fit and centre the selected tool at 70% say? Can’t see it in the prefs.

Many thanks
Steve

  1. The grids can be set up in various ways to show the axes. For example, try the grid in the zip.

Unzip the file to your Desktop then move the AxesGrid.ZGR file to you ZBrush 4R4/ZGrids folder. You can then load the grid any time through the Lightbox Grids tab.

To learn more about the grid settings see here:http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Grid_Options

  1. You might like to try this macro: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?94752-Useful-small-ZScripts-and-Macros-for-ZBrush-4-amp-4R3&p=898758&viewfull=1#post898758

Thanks Marcus, had not twigged I could customise the grid in that way! I’ll investigate the links you posted, thank you again

Hey Marcus, forgot to say thank you again for this, both the axis and macro were perfect - just what I was after - thank you

No problem, glad they’re useful. Have fun!
