I’m sure most of you have seen the video of the making of N0X-2292 part2 by Slipgatecentral.

I was hoping someone could clarify the steps he takes in ZBrush to isolate the exoskeltal portion or the model. It looks like he…
- Subdivides the model
- Imports a mask
- a) Hides the masked portion and deletes the rest?
b) Creates polygroups based on masking and creates edges loops?
c) I have no idea.
What is confusing me is that you can’t do any of those things with multiple subdivisions and in the video it looks like he hides on the high res version but winds up exporting a lower res version with nice clean edges. I CAN’T FIGURE IT OUT!!!
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
