Making a low poly Gear

Ok folks I have not messed with many Ztools besides the sphere and Zspheres so I thought I would ask you fine people.

I need to make a gear that has 200 teeth but I need the least amount of polys as it can be. Anyone know of the best way to do this?

Dave

Like this ?
I start the thread, someone will have maybe more tricky
After the modeling, maybe Tool/modifiers/Optimize

Another better solution : draw the top view in a 2D prog (or ZBrush :), import it, Grabb it, Alpha Make 3D with the cubic function Smooth =0
Why exactly 200 teeths ? A precision mecanism ?

The problem that I encounter is the number of teeth. The maximum that the Gear3D can give is 100.

You could try using a Cylinder combined with Divide, masking, and then Size deformations restricted to X and Y. I was able to do that to create one with 200 teeth. But it certainly wasn’t low poly!
