making a disk double sided

I lost my notes on this one. How does one make a disk in zbrush double sided. The front is solid but when I rotate it, it is blank…empty. sorry for so many questions, but hopefully I will find some one with time to help me. In Lightwave I can double side it, but I once did it in zbrush?

Just go to Tool Shelf/Display Properties and click on double …

This is related to a thing called normals.

If you look on the lower right you’ll see a tool palette option called Display Properties. Click that and then click the button that says Double.

What that does is display the front AND back side normals. Whereas, if unpressed, it will only show the front side normals and thus why it disappears from view when you rotate the view to what should be the backside.

Notice too that there is a button there that says Flip. What that does is flip the normals.

As a side note, you may want convert this disk to a Polymesh3D before doing any sculpting or other procedures on it by clicking the button at the top of the tool palette that says Make Polymesh3D.

But wait! Before making it a Polymesh3D you may want to change the parameters of the geometry first.

If not already converted to Polymesh3D you’ll notice a button at the bottom of the tool palette that says Initialize. Open that and you’ll see lots of functions for changing the base geometry. You can play around with the functions under Initialize, but before doing that you’ll want to see the edges of the geometry so you can see the changes.

To see the edges, click the third button from the bottom that says Poly F. This button is in the row of small square buttons just to the left of the tool palette.

Hope this helps and happy Zbrushing =)

it is all coming back to me now…hee hee…as I said I left zbrush long time ago for personal reasons and now I am trying to catch up…yes this will help thanks
