Hi, how do I make one single piece of tool/mesh out of a group of tools/meshes?
Thanks.
‘Merge Visible’ in Subtool palette will merge all visible subtools. It will put a “Merged” tool in the Tool palette. The Tool will begin with the prefix “Merged_” in it’s name.
But then it is still a collection of tools, as I can hit ‘Group Split’ and have all the tools again. I want to end up with one solid tool which I cannot Group Split anymore.
Then, after loading the merged tool, you would go to Tool > Polygroups > Group Visible which would make it all one polygroup and can no longer be split.
Yes, excelent! Thank you for your help.
i was looking for this tip as well … thanks
few silly question i would like to ask more .
-
If you would group tool , so all subtools become one tool which cannot be split again . would the polygons inside the group tool be existing? or would the hidden polygons inside will be discarded?
-
Lets say if i have 3 Characters , each with clothes items , weapons and etc. Probably 10 -15 subtool for each character.
How can i Import them in as i would want to build the entire scene in Zbrush ?.
As i would love to have 3 characters with its own of subtool each in a scene in Zbrush.
Is there a work flow of Importing 3 to for ZTL files or 3 Sets of characters. Hope any of you guys can shed somelight on this.
I wish zbrush would have sub folders in the future
This is because rendering in Zbrush is more faster and easier to control .

They’d be left there. You’d essentially have one tool that is made up of several different Polygon Islands. So if you were to go to Tool: Polygroups: Auto, you’d be able to quickly separate the individual islands back into different polygroups. If you wanted one mesh with one single island, then run Dynamesh or Remesh onto the merged tool.

I’m not 100% sure on this mind you, but without dropping any to the document I think you’d either have to work with a tool that has 30-45 subtools, or 3 subtools (with all the clothes/etc as polygroups, if your system’s memory allows)
