Make Mesh Transparent (like older ZB versions)

Make Mesh Transparent (like older ZB versions)

Layer1> Crop and Fill image
Layer1> Draw mesh with Semi transparent material

Do you have to use ImagePlaneX to do this in ZB4?

You could use transparency with the BPR render
See the BPR video here http://www.pixologic.com/zclassroom/homeroom/tutorial.php?lesson=zbrush4

I want to sculpt to a background image. I think Image plane is now used for this purpose.

I was trying to make a material semi transparent so i could see the background image.

Image Plane 4 will work.

I should also add, that if you would prefer to use the Image Plane X or Image Plane Cube, then check out this post by aurick.

NOTE: If you use Image Plane X or Cube as per aurick’s post, you have to go to Preferences > Draw and use "Back Opacity’ to adjust the transparency of the tool your working on. I think aurick should have included that in his post.

Good Links, Thanks!

For the record: Material transparency would work but you need the background image on a separate document layer to the model. You also need to turn of Flatten in the Render palette.
