The web docs and inside-program help both say this button exists, but I can’t find it in ZBrush 4R2… how do you mesh extract from a layer?
Thanks.

Thanks.
It’s now the Tool>Layers>Bake All button. It will convert what you see from all layers into geometry/polypaint on the base model.
aurick could you elaborate, i just tried bake all and it doesn’t create a separate subtool like make3d does.
Yes, “Bake All” only bakes all layers into the subtool, I was asking about mesh extraction from a layer, which creates a new subtool from the layer.
The Extract button on the subtool subpalette extracts from masks or visibility.
In-program help on it says “To extract using layers see Make 3D in the layer subpalette”, but the Make 3D button doesn’t exist.
Thanks.
no clue where it went but you can always use the Morph Target Make Difference button, it will give you similar but not the same results
Thanks spaceboy, I am mostly at the learning stage so it’s nice to discover these features.
aurick, any update on where that button went?
ok i see but still its not same quality like Make 3d button does … i dont understand why zbrush people deleted this feature !!!
it was easier and more powerful …
even … still its not giving a subtool, its giving a new tool … i need more clear answer on this … because i feel jealous, how jesse making it very easy and he said that he is using this technique to much in his modeling
