Mahtopia Intro *updated 1-27-03* Color added!

Hello all, I am making my site into a flash site (hopefully)…but of course, I need to practice first. This intro page is my first try with my new toy and I would like to get some feedback from you all. It is ment for highspeed (dial0up plays out of cue)but the future version will have the ability to choose your bandwidth.
Once I have all the flash functions somewhat mastered, I will be making 3D elements with ZB and C4D (lighting and camera movement…site nav graphics). I cant wait until the new ZB release for I am really excited to check out the animation functions.

I would appreciate some feedback, comments, and suggestions.

Your intro has very good visual rhythm / movement / flow.

The sound clip seems to stop too suddenly.
-perhaps it should fade out or keep looping until you click on “enter main site”

Your color choices for text, background, and graphics achieve very good contrast.

Looks cool Mahlikus, like the music too.
Nice one.
If I offered any suggestions I would say the ‘Mahtopia’ text could do with a second or so more on screen.

I think it is quite perfect.
This looks like it could continue into a great look for your flash site in progress (S.I.P. ?)

Thank you, yes, definately a SIP!
The more I learn…them more it will hopefully transform into an entire flash site. It will take some time but its getting there.

Hey Michael,
I tried to view your site but all I got was a white screen with a black border… I have DSL and I’m running IE6.0
Also, I was asked to download a program called Xupiter? I won’t download anything unless I am quite sure what it is. Sorry bro, that is all the feedback I can give you so far! I’ll keep trying though!

the only thing that is going on that I can think of is that you might need to update your flash plugin…

wow i REALLY like it. nice job.
im trying to learn flash and ur site is very inspirational.

there is only one problem i have (not even a big one) and it is the text links. they are kinda hard to click on (hit area too small?)(maybe its just me :wink: )
other than that, awesome work.
how long have you been using flash?

3D flash made possibile by swift3d! :wink:
I love that program! Not as much as Z though…going to try and incorporate some ZB elements later…

I have touched flash for a few weeks about a year ago…this includes playing around with swish…and even then…swish is more what I used than flash. Only about a week ago did I start again. So about one month of prog doodles are all I have under belt. I really havent any prefessional training nor have I read the manuals/tutorials yet. Right now I am just playing. Swift and Swish are extremely user friendly…they are right up there with ZB as my top 10 favorite progs.

Newer, faster, smaller sizes that are now dialup friendly too!
Testing a new animation by making a ZBrush Gallery splash page…very early stuff but you have to find it in the intro if you want to see it. :wink: :wink: :wink:

Hi Mahlikus,

Have you tried optimizing the graphics a little bit, I’ve launched the window for a while and it still hasn’t loaded! I’m on a 56k connection.

You should get one of those programs that can batch a whole series of jpgs, they’re quite common.
Okay, it still hasn’t loaded.
EDIT–Okay, I think my connection was broken-I didn’t use cookies, I noticed that after I posted on here and refreshed it loaded quite quickly. I liked it. :slight_smile:

LOL…thanks buddy!

I have now chained together all the movies so all you guys have to deal with is one pop-up…other then that…everything should open in the same window…also…at the end of the intro…after the logo fades out…look for the only twinkling star. This is a temp button that opens to a test gallery…let me know what you all think…
