Ok so I decided to do a Sir Ian McKellen Magneto likeness. I really just wanted test myself as to how much detail I could push. This was also my first time using Keyshot as a renderer and I have to say it does a really good job and it does it fast. I’ve provided some Zbrush screens so you can see my surface detail and a number of renders, which on the majority took only about 3 minutes each. If you’d like additional content or have any questions, just leave a comment for me. Thanks!

Nice stuff.Wow it seems that everyone is using Keyshot. did you decimate your model before opening it in Keyshot? did you polypaint your model in ZB and if so how do you get it into Keyshot?
Man, amazing work! I wish they’ve used this helmet in the movie! Congrats!
Wow super good. A breakdown of the entire thing would be amazing but any info is great.
That helmet is hiding a lot of good sculpting.
Nice skinshader too.
I’m not quite ready to switch to Keyshot/Photoshop, but results like that don’t make it easy to stick with BPR…
Thanks everyone!
Ok so I’m providing a slight breakdown of my model in case anyone’s interested.
here’s a shot of the wire frame and polypainting that I did. I used fiber mesh for the eyebrows and exported out splines to generate some clean geo for the specific hairs.
Here’s a screen of the skin shader. Not really much to it actually. Keyshot does so much for you. you basically insert your textures and play with the sliders and hdr light map till you get a good result.
Extracted out some separate geo for the tear ducts.
Here are the diffuse and spec maps I used. Not the cleanest UVs in the world but I was going more for speed
I’ll try and get some more breakdown images up eventually. Thanks again for the support everyone!
Whoa that was quick thanks for posting the mini-break down
Looks outstanding … well played.
Also…an image progression for ya!

Nice job!
Thank you much!
Very nice!
Great result with the skin and lighting! Shame Keyshot hasn’t got the isolation for sss areas and always gets through eyelids and rings around the eye. I’ll try inserting a skull with muscle under it the next time to see if it works.
Looks great, I’m going to have to get keyshot I think.
Beautiful sculpt! Thanks for sharing your experience with Keyshot.
Outstanding!
great job.
Hahah… that’s not a bad idea I might do that next time. Yeah their SSS shader needs a few more options. not much more tho. thx!
stubobpot - much obliged!
