MAGICIAN – Archetypal Boss

Magician – Archetypal Boss Character | Sculpted in ZBrush

Hi everyone!
This is Magician , a boss character I designed and sculpted in ZBrush for a personal AAA-level project, started at Andrew’s Ariza Mentorship.

She represents an archetypal force of nature , not a villain to be defeated, but a mirror to the hero’s inner flaws and virtues.

Her design draws inspiration from alchemical symbols, Tarot (The Magician), and mythological goddesses . She has four arms, a strong silhouette, and a ritual-like structure in front of her:
The Wheel of Heads , which holds human archetypes like envy, pride, wisdom, and guilt. When one is selected, the others freeze, locking the player into a psychological confrontation that impacts both narrative and combat.

All high-res sculpting was done entirely by hand in ZBrush.
I avoided alphas or surface noise the body skin detailing was sculpted directly into the mesh, following the anatomical flow, with giant fingerprint-like ridges that resemble tectonic patterns or planetary surfaces.

This was a deeply symbolic and technical project, combining my love for storytelling, mythology, and sculptural rhythm.
