Any Information about when “ComingSoon” will come?
I haven’t heard a date mentioned for it.
Correct if I’m wrong, Mac users, but don’t most folks with Macs tend to use ZB in a Windows environment anyway?
The release of ZB3 for Mac was very delayed, and I’d bet the ranch that a lot of folks with Macs just got used to booting into XP to use ZBrush.
Plug-ins for ZB3 on the Mac (Transpose Master, Subtool Master, etc) don’t exist.
I was actually considering buying one of the new MacBook Pros, but given that my two primary apps are ZBrush and 3dsmax, I think I would end up spending most of my time Boot Camped into Windows XP…which kinda negates the point of forking over an extra $1500 when you compare the specs to a comparable Dell laptop. The MacBook Pro is sexy, but not $1500 sexy.
I’m not trying to stir sh**, I like both Macs and PCs. This is just something I’ve had on my mind lately and I thought this might be a good opportunity to ask about it.

I don’t have an ETA for the Mac trial at this time.
With the PC version it was a few months. We wanted to get an update out and a few plugins before the demo was made available.
Hi aurick. Getting back to my previous post, what would you say to someone who is considering planking down the extra cash on a Mac, when it comes to ZBrush?
What I’m driving at is, do you forsee Pixologic’s support on the Mac side improving to where full releases, point releases, and plug-ins are released at the same time as Windows versions?
Do the sales numbers warrent it for Pixologic? Because that’s the real driving factor, isn’t it?
Or are Mac releases always likely going to happen a little slower than Windows? I’m asking for your opinion.
If these things are likely to improve, then I would feel a lot better about buying a Mac. I know you don’t have a crystal ball, but you’re more in the know than I am.
Thanks,
Dustin
We’ve already stated that future versions of ZBrush will be able to be released together for both platforms.
That’s the primary reason why we’re only supporting Intel-based Macs going forward.
I apologize, aurick, I didn’t realize that statement had been released. Thanks for the response.
