I can’t see any point in releasing it before version 4 comes out seeing that it will be coming out shortly.

There was no mac trial for 3, only one for windows.

EXACTLY MY POINT!!! They’re working on all these new features, and a new version (4) but what about the trial version for those of us on a Mac??? I can not justify a purchase to my higher ups without testing it out first. Until there is a trail version for 3 or 4 I can not make a purchase. What makes you think version 4 will be any different? Why is it so difficult to simply give a targeted date for a release of a trail version? This open ended “soon” that they show under the download button is ridiculous. They can show all the neat features they want on the site but until I can try it first hand a purchase ain’t happening.
To be honest, and in no way being rude on my part, the quality of work produced within the Zbrush community many of which are on display here at ZB Central should be more than an easy sell to your highers.
Being on a Mac myself, I know the frustration. I suppose the stock answer is “Install windows in bootcamp and try using that for the demo”.
I know this is no concilation. If you feel that Pixologic is not suiting your needs and treating your demand seriously, there is a Mac demo of Mudbox.

I would just LOVE to have someone from Pixologic explain why they are so unsupportive for the Mac side and why we still do not have a demo version. They are obviously putting a great deal of effort developing new features for version 4, yet the demo for 3 is still not out. What does “SOON” mean exactly to them? Do they tell the President of the company version 4 will be out “SOON”? I think not. I’m sure they have an exact target date for every tool, every feature, and every update. We deserve the same.
It works, it rocks, just get it. It’s incredibly feature rich for the price. Way better than dirtbox in my opinion, even though it’s also nice.
I’ve even played around with Blender’s sculpting tool, and Blender is a FREE application!
