Mac OS X 3.12 Upgrade Support Center - Read Initial Post Before Posting

Got my link while I was away!!

Got it downloaded, installed, and then…

Guess I didn’t understand it requires OS 10.5 minimum!

I’m running 10.4.11.

So, guess it’ll STILL be awhile before I’m up and running - but that’s MY fault.

Off to Apple I go!! Wasn’t really planning on a new OS right now.

10.5.4 is on the way, but won’t be here 'til next Wednesday.

Ho-hum. There’s another $129 up in smoke!

The rest of you that got it, HAVE FUN!!

Them what ain’t, hang in there!! It’s coming!!

See you next week!

Aurick pleeeeeaaaase!

Do not forget Michel GIN
… even if I made a mistake on my email !

I got my upgrade email, loaded the page in Firefox, noticed that NoScript was holding back SmartBridge’s javacript so I told it to allow javascript from SmartBridge.com, just like I do for every online vendor before I start filling in information.

So the page reloads and I’m immediately locked out because the page is only allowed to be loaded once.

Guys. Come on. There’s protection and there’s ridiculousness. I can see only being able to submit the form once. I can see only being able to use a given case number once. But reload the page? Do you guys surf the web much?

I’ve sent a message to the Mac3Support address, so with luck the gears will grind overnight and I’ll be seeing y’all tomorrow.

Isn’t it wonderful to live in this technological age of instant gratification?

aww man… so sad. I just signed on to see if you, specifically, had gotten it yet… which you did… but you can’t use it.

Ah well… can’t blame pixo or cb anymore at least.

And finally!!!
I got it running!! Woo hooooooo!!!

I notice the posts in this thread have slowed down considerably. I hope it’s because most of you are too busy playing with your shiny new ZBrush 3, and that it’s not because you’ve all just given up hope. Looking forward to seeing all the great new ZBrush art from you guys real soon.

activated. all 8 cores are dancing  Thanks for the assistance and help thru the wait!

I was finally able to download ZBrush 3 for Mac after two days but now I am unable to activate it via the Web Activation option. I have entered all of the required information but I am getting the following error:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ā€˜/tmp/mysql.sock’ (2) in /home/www/data/registration/functions.php on line 7
Unable to connect to database server: Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ā€˜/tmp/mysql.sock’ (2)

After getting the MySQL error while trying to register via FireFox I decided to try registering with Safari.

I received the following error:

The email address provided does not match with the serial key provided at the time of purchase.
This is strange. I am using the same email address that Pixologic used to email me my serial number and download link. I have also tried every other email account that I have. All of them have failed.

I got that error too. The problem wasn’t the mail address. I thought they ment the PC serial of ZBrush3. But it had to be the activation code.

Besides having to send the upgrade request twice, Everything else went smooth. Even using safari and hotmail. Now I just have to remember how drive this machine, It’s been years!

Matthew from Pixologic support got back to me soon after I emailed them about the page reload problem (thanks Matthew!), and after going out and seeing a movie (Kamen Rider Den-O) I came home to find a new link waiting for me. Everything went smoothly, I used the File->Save Attachments… trick for the invisible activation key attachment in Mail.app, and all is now functioning.

Now I only have one problem…

This just gets better. My link still never arrived so I emailed Cleverbridge my order to swap to a temp license asking if they were aware my email address had changed since the order. I got an email back with a link to a PC version of windows 3. I wrote back to explain I’d been expecting a link to download the new Mac 3.12 version as stated in my last email. This morning I got an email back saying they only have records of me having a PC license. WTF?!!!
I made it quite clear I was one of the people who took up the offer to get a temporary PC license until the Mac version was ready. Isn’t that what they’ve been dealing with the last few days? How would they not put the two two’s together? Aaaaargh somebody please help me get out of this recurring nightmare hell
Seriously though, I’d appreciate it if someone would be kind enough to let me know what is going on. The last I heard from Pixologic was case 50255 when I was told all I have to do is sit back and wait for the mac release.
Thanks
Sav

Woke up this morning and checked my mail, low and behold there’s an email  so its nine on a saturday morning and I have to get home to install this program  well looking forward to playing, Cheers Aurick! Pixo, please dont let this kind of mess happen again!

I got it! It works! It’s like some wonderful dream that has finally come true.

The first thing I did was divide and divide and divide to see how many polys it would handle. Waaaaaaaaaay more than running through Parallels (obviously). Now it’s time to break out the Digital Tutors DVD set and have a ZBrushin’ Sunday!

Thanks aurick and thanks Pixo.

I’m up and running!!!
Got my email yesterday night (8:15 PM German Time)
Woohooo!!
Can’t believe this!
Cheers to everyone who’s already Zbrushing!
good luck to all the others that haven’t yet!!
Aurick and the other Moderators:
Thank you so much for being with us in this struggle!
greetings!

Anyone in Australia got their mittens on it yet?

GOT IT… I GOT IT… ā€œThats grat kid, dont get cocky!ā€ What to do first, my meshes? my sketches from scratch? maybe I should learn how to use it lol, Ok Meats, its you and me! Bring it on!!! Best of luck to all who finally got Zbrush running on their macs, its been a trying time for us all but its here finally, hopefully will catch some stunning artwork from the people I’ve met over the year we’ve been sitting here hoping and praying for a post from Aurick saying, ā€œOk guys, here it is!ā€ On that Cheers Aurick for keeping us sane by telling us what info you could. Ok I’ve got a ton of tuition to get through, will see you all on the boards

While I’m pleased to see happy faces, I still await an email. A 2 Sept guy, and now a 2nd emailer to support, I need to go off and think about something else.

On a positive note, over the past several months I have been in contact with management at Pix and my oldest son, a professor at VaTech. Dane Webster, is now incorporating Zbrush with Maya and Modo, into an ever expanding program within the Arts & Architectural program, and I would like to thank Jaime Labelle for management support, and Matthew for being there in the tech trenches.

As I learn ZBrush, I look forward now to seeing all those Mac Artists out there creating great works.
