Mac os 10.2.6 an Zbrush

Hello, i have a big problem or a big question. I have zbrush 1.55b and it’s impossible to open it in mac os 10.2.6. I’m oblige to switch in mac os9 or classic to work. I’d prefer to work in Mac osxÉ

PS : sorry about my english but I’m french

arrgh! I have the same problem! Zbrush now refuses to load whatsoever…

Which is a big bad!.. umm, I guess… they read the forum… Should i email them too I wonder… Hmm.

ZBrush for OS X requires the following settings:

:small_orange_diamond: 1024x768 or better
:small_orange_diamond: Millions of Colors

Odds are very good that your color depth is currently at Thousands of Colors. Once you change it to Millions, ZBrush should run just fine.

Incidentally, some programs (especially games) will change your color depth without telling you about it. So even if you believe that you are at Millions of Colors, you should still check to be certain.

Hope that helps!

Thanx a lot it’s ok nowÉ

see you later

In my case it isnt that simple…

I have a dual display setup… monitor 0 is my main one, and 1 is to the left, much smaller and low res - and I dont know how to urn it off in the os…

for some reason ZB appears on the left hand (800x600) secondary display, and crashes (i only really use that little monitor for divX playback etc) sooo… ZB wont run for me at all unless there’s a setting i’ve missed, or unless i unplug that monitor.

Can you temporarily change that second monitor to the higher settings? Once ZBrush has launched, you can resize its window, drag it to the other monitor, and maximize it there. ZBrush will then remember that position in the future, and you can change the small monitor’s settings back to normal again.

Thanks… It’s odd, my monitors interfere with each other when i have the 2nd display on 1024x768 - so i can temporarily switch them to that but have to put them back again afterward…

ZB refuses to stay put though… it always appears on the secondary display, maximised when i load it… I cant think why, but it’s only a minor inconvenience now you’ve given me a fix for it. (which i shouldve thought of myself really, sorry, hehe) Just a bit odd having to switch the res to load…

I’m sure it did store screen coordinates etc before i started using the second monitor though, so I dont understand what it’s up to.

Try this:

Launch ZBrush (it will appear on the first monitor, apparently.

Move ZBrush to the main monitor, but do not maximize it. Keep it small.

Change your second monitor back to its regular settings.

Maximize ZBrush on the main monitor.

Close ZBrush. When you restart it, it should now be able to remember the new location.

Nope, if i do that lot exactly as you said it just ‘unexpectedly quits’ as its still trying to appear on the wrong display.

If it doesnt do this on other people’s setups… might it be because i have 2 vga displays plugged into a G4 with an ATI card using a Dr Bott ADC to VGA adaptor? I havent found any other programs which have treated it oddly or had any problems anyway… thanks for the help sofar though. ^^
