Mac News (Unofficial) (update on page 15)

Maybe they’ll release ZB3 for the Mac at the first anniversary of PC version? This has gone way beyond my expectations (given the statements Pix made at the announcement and since.) It kind of shows that Pix wasn’t very serious about Mac development during the development of ZB3 as it seems like the whole thing is one big afterthought without any plan or real schedule.

Of course, having long since bought ZB (and since been abandoned by ZB in terms of support for hardware built in this century) I’m not paying for it.

Fortunately, ZB isn’t the only sculpting tool out there–just one of the more interesting.

I don’t understand how you guys can say that what Support and Aurick posted are not updates on progress.

Again, I would like to speak as the voice of reason and let ZBrush know, that I would much rather wait for a stable release than have something that’s not quite there yet just to please these guys.

Bugs should take priority over new features. Maybe you can trim the posts down a bit on this thread by requiring people to include their “order id” to prove they purchased the product. I wouldn’t be opposed to Pixo creating a members area in the community where only paid users can post discussions related to help and support. It would certainly cut back on the amount of wasted cycles spent on updating threads like this.

Sure, unofficial updates are better than none at all, which is apparently why there isn’t an official thread regarding this. It appears from the outside Pixologic doesn’t offer any news, maybe because they were burnt with the whole process of announcing fiasco of v2.5? They must have learned then, they won’t let that happen again, which also makes me think they have no idea how long development cycles will take. It would help with all the speculation going on to have OFFICIAL NEWS, not the insiders thread of unofficial news LOL! Ridiculous.

Hmmm … never thought there were people here complaining about an update they are due, that aren’t customers, but whatever. I doubt that effects this thread that much do you?

I agree, we deserve a bug free version, but you mention new features? I don’t know why they would even consider new features when they can’t implement the code to the Mac in a timely, measurable, some what predictable manner.

Oh well, there is nothing we can do but wait. And they got us with that one, we’ll wait for this amazing software.

It’s great that you want to be the voice of reason now, that’s better than the fly in the ointment. Many of your earlier posts only added fuel to the fire and created more angst than reason, and helped create more angry posts. As long as people keep their remarks civil, I think tempers won’t explode as often. This thread seems much more like a place for frustrated mac users to come and vent a bit then an actual place for official news from Pixologic. The updates from aurick, though appreciated, are pretty vague and very few.

Kosher, no one here is asking for compromises,
zB now, or anything of the sort- merely the
appropriate respect we are due as paying
customers by being communicated with in
a formal fashion - as opposed to this.

One can only wonder how a staff member
can provide ‘unofficial’ news, that seems
polar in nature. This should be handled in a
formal way- these ‘leaks’ or lack thereof
are very simply placebo for the Mac
community.

Policy doesn’t change unless there is a reason,
and reasons look like $$ not “”.

My previous negative posts were in response to the people that sound like Austin Powers’ father in Gold Member except in reference to OSs. It goes like this:

“All right, Kosher. Don’t play the laughing boy. There’s only two things I hate in this world: People who are intolerant of other people’s operating systems, and Windows.”

Due to the continued deterioration of this thread, it is now being closed.

As stated previously, I will post news about the Mac version in this thread whenever possible. We are working on it. It is close.

This thread is intended to notify Macintosh users about major news regarding the Mac release

Thank you for your understanding.
