Lucky Bhaskar - 3D Portrait of Dulquer Salmaan

Here’s my photorealistic 3D model of Dulquer Salmaan as Bhaskar from Lucky Bhaskar. I really liked the movie and wanted to capture his likeness and expression in 3D. This was a personal project that I worked on over the course of three months, on and off.
The sculpting was done in ZBrush, starting from a base model from 3DScanstore. For the clothing, I used Marvelous Designer to create the shirt and pants, ensuring realistic fabric folds and draping. UV unwrapping was done with Rizom UV. The head was textured in Mari, while the hands and clothes were detailed in Substance Painter. The eyes come from the FlippedNormals Eye Pack, which I modified adding extra realism.
Hair was one of the biggest challenges in this project, and I created it using XGen, carefully placing and grooming the strands to achieve a natural look. The final renders were done in Arnold, where I focused on achieving realistic lighting and skin shading. Most importantly the tutorial which I followed was from Sefki Ibrahim. I haven’t fully completed the tutorial. Hopefully I will do the Advanced Look Developement mentioned in the tutorial with my next 3D model.
This project was a great learning experience, and I had a lot of fun recreating Dulquer’s iconic look from the film. Hope you like it! Feedback is always welcome.
