Low poly model in Zbrush / First time

Hello! Im Jonathan Im posting here for my first time to get some suggestions and feedBack on what Im doing right Know.

Im New here and new at Zbrush too , so dont be afraid of my work Haha!:wink:

So here he come : Zbrush model about 7 millions polys (head + body)

To do what? Game model about 7000 polys with 2k normal map .

reminds me of a character from mass effect. pretty good start

Mdale13: Yeah you are right , its really inspired by mass effect! A great game ! Its a in between of mass effect and Davy Jones from pirate of carabean :wink:

Zolday: Thanks for your good comments. For the clothes its only with the standard tool in zbrush ( like the line tool in projection master for the line one the clothe) And other basic stuff in zbrush.

Im working right now on the texture for the head I will post something soon!

His feet seem a little narrow on the front view. Also, if he is wearing that space suit, wouldnt he be wearing space BOOTS as well?

Danconia: For the feet …yeah your right they are narrow, I will fix this THX! :wink: For the suit , well I understand what you saying but Its a weirdo alien space marine …so dont need boots he he!

For a low poly model you can do it in two differents ways:

1: Create your high poly from Zsphere or medium poly cage(15000 or 20000 tris) in 3d software like maya or 3dsmax .After sculpting the model like you want in Zbrush.And then retopologize it! In zbrush or in 3d package. Once the retopo its done you can re-import your ‘clean’ model in zbrush and project the detail from Zsphere to your clean low poly mesh.THEN generate normal map.

2: Start with a low poly mesh in 3d package(7k to 10k(depends on poly budget)) and import it in zbrush , sculpt it and after generate normal map …

For my case I chose the second one, but those two cases can do the job.Its depend on each personnal workflow .:wink:

what is your texturing workflow? Do you texture in zbrush (poly paint)? or do you texture the uvs out in photoshop?

Zoldax: ahah no I dont work for Bioware but I wish :stuck_out_tongue: But I really like the game Mass effect :slight_smile: Its for personnal purpose .

rubent100: Hello new replyer , well my workflow its a mix of the two you said. First I started to texture a base color for the whole body and after I bring back the psd file produced in Zbrush into photoshop and do the details works. Some texture bake were done too in maya.
