Lovecraft's Pet

This little monster was for a friendly competition to create a pet in the Lovecraftian vein. This is my brain bug…fits snugly inside the skull and uses its eyes (the orbs on the long front ends) to look through the poor unfortunate’s eye sockets.

I thought I’d post the process of Zbrush to polypainting to materials for rendering to texture for Lovecraft’s Pet.

Very interesting piece. Yes I would love to learn more about your process.

This looks vaguely like mutated female reproductive organs ripped out and
adorned with cute eyeballs.

I vuw it.

Thanks Eiad and Xenoforge!

I’m working on putting together a “how I did it” and will post when able.

thanks for watching!

I’m not sure if this will be helpful to anyone but I thought I’d post the process I went through to create the ‘pet’. There are many different methods and what follows is just one way to do it.

As this is the first time I’ve ever done this, I’m sure I wasn’t as in-depth as I could have been but it’s a good start.

Lovely and creapy design, well executed.
I love the love that went into the work.

Thanks very much for the compliments, InkySpot!

I love what I do and hope that comes across (and I guess it did, for you)!

Hey Stephen really nice work, i really like that you really love what you do and as well as helping others, just like you helped me, thanks a lot man!!!

Heya Frank! I appreciate the kind words and you know I just showed you the tools…you still had the art in you to begin with! It’s all about willing to share and willing to learn, ya know?!

We’ve got another new challenge going on for hard surfaces if you’re interested (you might especially like it with the work you just did on your rad Brawl entry, Vega! (THAT turned out reallllllll sweet)

man!
great stuff and the walk though is definitely eyeopening! thanks for taking the time to share your process!!!
