Lost Tool On Save! (while installing the wacom drivers)

The is terrible. My computer had a blue screen while installing the wacom drivers and I was actually still saving my tool in the background in ZB. The tool won’t load now saying that it can’t read the HD data!!! Fortunately, I have a backup but it’s still many** hours/days down the drain.

What the ****!?!

Someone needs to talk to the developers over there. Don’t you know how to write to a separate file and move/overwrite??? Hell Vista’s API even has a transactional file system feature built in!!!

All of these features and the very basics slip through the cracks! That is such terrible coding I can’t believe it. I just lost my damn tool!! You guys ever hear of a “Transaction”, the “ACID” test, or data integrity?

File Error
“Error has been ecountered while trying to load a Tool. Loading has been aborted.”

Have you not ever heard of NOT installing drivers (especially) and/or programs while running programs containing valuable work without saving? All installers I’ve seen WARN the user to shut down ALL programs and SAVE ALL work before continuing with the install. This is the fault of the operator (you, in this case) and could have happened with any program, not just ZBrush.

smokebox46and2 is correct (thanks:) ). Installing while you have other applications running may result in loss of data. Furthermore, try to avoid working hours/days without sufficient backups.
