Losing latest sculpting work when changing brush size

I am experiencing a strange problem. It goes like this…

I am working on sculpting a polymesh using various brushes. I go to change the brush size and the ztool reverts to a previously saved version of the tool. All of my recent work is gone. I cannot undo to get back to the latest state of the tool that I was sculpting. (In fact the undo seems to revert to reverted tool’s undo state.)

So, say that I was sculpting version 5 of a polymesh. I have saved versions 1-4 so far as tools. I work on my sculpt for 15 minutes or so (time varies). In the course of working on the latest version, I use a variety of brushes, may have used dynamesh, might have done polypainting. Suddenly when I change brush size, I am popped back to a previous version of the tool. For this example - say version 2. And all the work I did in that 15 minutes of sculpting version 5 is gone. Can’t get it back (or at least I don’t know how).

Using Zbrush 4R4 on a Macbook Pro. OSX 10.6.8, Core 2 Quad with 8gigs of ram, not much else running while Zbrush is in use.

This has happened about 6-8 times with different sculpts since I installed 4R4 a couple of weeks ago. Its frustrating to loose work done on a sculpt - especially when I am really happy with where the sculpt is heading.

Any ideas on what is going on here?

Thanks.

There’s an undo history slider right beneath the brush size changer which is hard to see…are you accidentally touching that when changing your brush size? If so, you should be able to slide the small gray square all the way to the right and get your work back. I’ve done that a few times and panicked till I figured out what I did.

Thats exactly what it was. Thanks for the info.
