Looking to pick up a tutorial DVD

Ive been looking over at Gnomon Workshop at a few of their DVDs, and Im trying to decide which one I would get the most out of based on my skill level right now in ZBrush. Ive picked up the basics pretty quick, from modeling using zspheres and building up and working on the mesh from there.

Im looking for a DVD that will go into creating displacement & texture maps for use in other programs, either Maya or XSI, which is why I was looking at this one by Aaron Sims.
Building Creatures Using ZBrush: http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/dvds/asi04.html

I was also looking at these two, since they’re by Meats Meier who seems to know what hes doing in the world of 3D modeling, plus Im interested in learning how he does that awesome wire style, as well as modeling within ZBrush using its primatives.
Introduction to Brush: http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/dvds/mme01.html
ZBrush for Illustration: http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/dvds/mme03.html

If anybody can suggest which one might be best for me, Id be most appreciative.

Thanks,
Andrew

Well “ZBrush for Illustration” is on my shopping list so i don’t know about that one. Introduction to Zbrush is exactly what it says it is, he goes through and covers pretty much every tool and what they do and lots of sub settings that i probably would never of found out about on my own, if you’ve been learning of your own back its probably worth picking up. Aaron sims building creatures DVD you’d get a lot out of if your using XSI, personally i don’t so most of the end lectures were really hard or me to follow.

In a nutshell if your using XSI the Building creatures is pretty good, only draw back is you’ll find everything you’ll do for the next few weeks will only have 3 fingers and toes (still need to try and get out of doing that myself).

If your using Maya the Zbrush Production Pipeline DVD (also Meats Meir) would be good for you although there was a lot of things on there that went over my head it covers a lot of ground, it covers blend shape animation as well which i found really intresting.

thanks cube,
i use maya for non organic modeling ,i dont have any experience w/zbrush yet as the instant download turned out to be not so instant.
but the demo’s i have seen make the organics look like a breeze compared to maya.
your review of the intro dvd by mr. meat, was welcome as im considering it also,
im new here but i would think a reveiw section would save folks an ass load of money especially if someone needed some specific training to complete a project,
thanks agian,

yeah they run fine on home… pro only has some networking crap and a bad server

Really all you need is to play quicktime movies… with that codec from techsmith i hate that menu always crash with me and it takes like 20 seconds to get through the introi… The quicktime files are as hidden files on the disc

Well these dvds cost me a lot atleast.

one dvd of 69$ will cost me over 3500 indian rupees.

Anyone has a throw away useable dvd  lols

Well, I was reading their site, you can get a 10% student discount if you provide some form of student ID. So your $69 DVD comes out to about $62.10. I dont know what that is in Indian rupees though

well I am no more a student, I ahve done my advertising and I am out of college now.

so no student discount for me atleast.

Will buy the dvd though but after I get some cash freedom.

Whoa rupees is a real currency outside of Zelda?

LOL, too funny.
