Look Deep Into My Eyes . . .

‘Afternoon all . . . I wanted to show everybody my eyes! Heheheh.

I realize that “Eye Textures” can be created within Zbrush, but I seem to get better results when I use PhotoShop & import the texture into Zbrush. Plus I think it’s easier.

I have a question for anybody who may be interested in “My Eyes”. Would you want these “Eye Textures” for download, as they are? They are ready to apply to any “Eye Ball” in Zbrush, no alterations needed. Or would you like a “Mini-Tut” on how to create them in PhotoShop? :qu:

If you choose the 1st, then I’ll have to send them to Digits or Kathy to post them on their site. If you choose the 2nd, then I’ll have to write the tutorial, which I haven’t done yet. Or if you want both, I can do that also.

I’ll check back later & have a good one . . . Mark.

PS: ( These textures are for ZBrush ver. 1.23b. )

I’m greedy.

BOTH.

Those iris’ are wicked cool!!

no ofense dude but it shows that you are very talented if you can paint good eyes on zbrush and using photoshop is just lazy
dose any one else agre with me

Mark,

Such a kind offer, I would like to see a mini tut.

I say that, knowing that I don’t have photoshop. :frowning:

I do own paint shop pro7 so there is a chance that I could still apply the info, or may find someone that could offer some assistance if I run across to many snags. Due to lack of knowlodge on my end!

No Dom, I don’t agree. There is so much that ZBrush can do that other programs can’t do, but it is amazing how much that you can import into ZBrush and get great effects. Poser, Photoshop, Painter, and just plain old digital images. Imagine how boring it would be if you couldn’t import anything and play with it. There are effects that I can only get with other programs, but ZBrush is my destination of choice, and I’m glad that I can bring them together here! :+1:

No dom I don’t.

As a matter of fact, I think you are completely wrong.

If you believe this statement is true, then open your copy of Photoshop and do the same thing. In fact open you copy of ZBrush and do the same thing in there.

Post it, then I’ll agree with you.

But I have to hand it to you.

It takes balls to put a statement like that on a board like this to a man like Mark who gets PAID to use Photoshop.

BTW, tell you father not to email me again. (Because of this post to you)

I really don’t want to hear it.

Both thank you please

The tut please!!

Knowledge is power!! :+1:

William if you run into trouble with PSP7 shoot me an email. It is my 2D editing program of choice. I’ve used it since version 4 and I love it. Now that’s two programs I won’t live without PSP and ZBrush!

The tutorial would be great!

Thank you all, ( er almost all ), for your positive responses.

Hi Kat . . . I guess by reading all the posts, I’ll do both. Heheheh. I’ll send you the “Eye Textures” via e-mail, as soon as I get them JPEG’d.

Hi William . . . I also have “PSP 7”, it is a very good program. I attempted to recreate my procedure in “PSP”, but it doesn’t seem to have a “Radial Blur” feature, which is one the main tools used in “PhotoShop” for creating my “Eye Texture”. Please correct me if I’m wrong. You can give it a try, once I post my Tut.

Kat, William, Zoid, Stacey, Vikki & MD .Thank-you all for your interest & you all have a good evening . . . Mark.

PS: ( Below is an image with two eyes, the 1st texture was created with PhotoShop, the 2nd texture was created within ZBrush. I still like the PhotoShop texture better. )

god!im sorry now that i read my post i sound like a totol ass hole sorry bout that i just meant that it takes a lot of skill to make realistic looking eyes on zbrush i dident mean to call u lazy

and e-mail threat i dont recall doing that but if i did you probably maked me real mad

im old onnuf to get a girl pregnit so i dont cunsider myself a “little boy”

dom,

Congratulations on being able to produce sperm. But what the hell does that have to do with anything???

As far as an email threat. I didn’t call it a threat. I said your father emailed me. Obviously without your knowledge.

And as far as you sounding like an assho@#. Well, you are the only person that called you that…

Outstanding Kruzr

I vote for both as well, thank you for sharing your knowledge and fruit of your labors. You are one of the great contributers creating a knowledge base for Zbrush that makes this product even better when people can actually have access to this kind of information. I will be happy to add this to Z-Place.

Sperm! now thats a scary thought

split personality here: my lazy part looks forward to simply apply this fantastico textures and my curious one wants to know the how-to-do’s and some more of your (photoshop and other) insights  so: my ditto’s to what Stacey & Digits said!

TIA

Kruzr,

Very, very nice. :+1: :+1: Yes, I would love to see how you made such a natural iris. Btw, since you went through all the work, which allows me to put forth minimum effort, I thought I’d augment your already fabulous eyes. For all of those aspiring illustrators of a realistic style (or those who simply want piercing eyballs) it pays to know a little about anatomy. The iris is actually slightly concaved with the cornea bulging over it. This, depending on the angle of light, creates a shadow on the iris in the very same place as the highlight (or hot spot). On the other side, the iris will “catch” more light.

Using a part of Kruzr’s image, in Photoshop I used the Dodge and Burn tools to add shadow and light.

Can you tell which one?
By dodging and burning you do not paint over the texture and you give the eye added depth.

thanks again Kruzr!

Adman

That’s a great tip, thank’s Adman!

BTW, it was the center one you did the dodge & burn to.

‘Morning Adman . . .

You are correct with your explanation of the “Dodge & Burn” tools in PhotoShop.

Another way of achieving realism to an “Eye Ball” in Zbrush, it to use the “ToyPlastic” Material for the whole object using “ColorFill”, then “Mask” the area around the cornea & use the “GelShaderA” Material to paint on the cornea itself, thus giving a more transparent & in-depth appearance to it. ( Image Below )

Thanks for the info Adman & have a good one . . . Mark.

the reson i ponted out that im not a little boy wuz that kruzr somewere said that i sent a threating e-mail and i did nt remember doing that i dont remember were he posted it it mite have been a e-mail he sent me i dont really remember

LOL!
Please, DOM, don’t leave! I’ve haven’t even used ZBrush yet, and this is the funniest bulletin board i’ve ever seen! At least donate some sperm to the ‘bulletin board punching bag sperm bank’ before you leave!

cool stuff, too.

Kruzr,

Hmmm… I’m going to have to experiment with that one. Looks great! thanks.

Adman
