Loading Ztool Crashes Zbrush.

Hello all.

This Is probebly one the oldest problem, but I am having a problem loading my WIP Ztools. I’ve Submitited a Ticket (I think) to the Support and I’m waiting on an answer.

Basiclly, This Has been pissing me off for some time now, and it starting to get real annoying. I was working on my model and I was getting record brush error. I have been saving my .Ztool very often and I’ve saved it in different file name all just in case. but when I try opening up my files zbrush keeps crashing. I tryed opening up up my backup files but they kept crashing zbrush as well. I have model in different sub tools, but I have no Idea why is zbrush is acting like this.

If anyone have any Idea please let me know.

I’m using Zbrush 4. I’'m using a window 7 64-bit operator desktop.
My Processor is Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz
And I’m running on 12.0 GB RAM

What are your settings in the Preference>Mem menu? Here’s a thread where I talk about settings for a system that’s the same as yours.

Second, does your model have a lot of Layers? Every layer is like an undo – another copy of the model. So lots of layers with a high poly mesh will overwhelm your computer. While the freedom of layers is a wonderful thing, at some point you have to commit to your choices.

Of course you should also make sure that your hard drive is kept defragmented as a fragmented drive can have a lot of free space, but all of it too small for ZBrush to use efficiently. In addition, make sure your system is free of viruses and as free as possible of spyware as these suck resources. Another thing worth checking is to test your RAM to make sure that you don’t have a module going bad.
