I had a problem?
My Tools pallete has a bunch of tools that are listed with the
mesh I am working on.
It seems that everytime I load another tool the old tool(mesh) stays in the
tool pallete.
I have like five different tools listed.
It makes for a heavy file that crashes alot.
How do I get rid of all the other meshes.
How do I keep only one mesh.
It seems like everytime I open a project while im working on another projects
both merge into one document.
I want only one mesh per document.
Not 5 different meshes. I want to open a new project without having the old one merge with it.
Please help.
thanks
when you save a project, all tool present at that moment in the tool palette are saved in the project itself.
if you need only a tool (with all related subtools attached) you have to press the R button beside the tool cursor.
in this manner you keep only the tool (and subtool ) selected and all the other tool are deleted from the working memory .
if you need another tool you must load it again.
pay attention: before pressing that button save singularly all tools that you want to mantain that are in the the tool palette because otherwise you lose them all.

you know what xexex, I did not know that. thanks this should lighten the load CONSIDERABLY wow
thank you
edit: does clearing out the old tools in the projects really reduce file sizes?
yes! the project file save all tools that are in the tool palette and their settings.
try it!
ciaooooooooooo
Actually, the ‘R’ button does not delete any tools, it simple removes them from the palette display (they are still available in the pop-up if you press the large thumbnail).
If you save a ZBrush project then all tools in the Tool palette will be saved along with it. This will increase the file size. To reduce the file size and get rid of unwanted tools:
- Select the tool in the Tool palette.
- Press Tool>SubTool>Delete repeatedly until all the subtools are removed. Pressing Delete for the last subtool will not remove it but it will be replaced by the Polymesh3D Star.
- Repeat for all the tools you don’t want.
hi marcus!
you are right! as usual!
i fell in a big mistake confused by the fact that all subtools desappeared from my sight were deleted from memory status and i didn’t pay attention to the content of the tool menu…
but,was it different in the previous relase?
@idlemind:i’m sorry for my wrong advice, but i was seriously convinced on what i told you…sorry again.
