loading texture in ZB4 (answered)

Ok very silly question but i probably overlooked something, in ZBrush 3 you could import a texture and it would load it on the model, well i have a texture i imported in ZBrush 4 and it seems to not show up. It’s basically just a plane 3d i subdivided and i have pressed colorize under the polypaint tab but i guess a main question is can a texture no longer just be loaded without having to paint it? release 4 seems way better but seems like more work arounds

Thanks

edit: i just figured it out :o

tool>texture>big button.

Are you referring to the big texture button that by default says Texture Off?
Because even thought the texture is loaded there the texture will not show up. Only way the texture shows up for me is in the texture map tab i click on that big button and locate the image that was imported. Perhaps this is what you mean’t
Thanks anyhow

Texture / Load Texture. The texture will then show up in the available textures. Then from the Tool / Texture Map palette mouse click on the large square button to the left of ‘Texture On’. You then select the default textures or the one you loaded previously. Since with ZBrush 4 you can have different textures applied to different subtools you cannot have one over-riding texture like in previous versions. You could also use Lightbox to apply textures. Just look in the documentation in the zbrush installation directory for how to use it or in the ZClassroom videos.

Thanx Richard and Darksun (one for the question, other for the answer, not necessarily in this order)!!!
