Loading a Ztool or OBJ without loosing my current model - a beginner's question

Loading a Ztool or OBJ without loosing my current model - a beginner’s question:

I just can’t figure how to load a Ztool or import an OBJ model (for appending or inserting to the model that I’m currently working on) without my current model disappearing and being replaced by said Ztool or OBJ.
And I can’t just redraw my model on the canvas because its individual subtools have been separated and scattered all over the tool palette… :frowning:

I’m sure there must be some easy way to fix this, but I haven’t found any solution online so far. Any help would be much appreciated!
(I’m running version 4r4 btw)

  1. If you load a ZTL then it only replaces the current model on the canvas - the original is still in the Tool palette, so simply select it there.
  2. To import an OBJ, first select the PolyMesh3D (Star) tool in the Tool palette, then import the OBJ.

I always use Subtool Master for my importing and appending needs.

Thanks for the help Marcus!
It turns out my original model indeed was in the tool palette as you say, but as I had deselected/hidden everything on the model but a small trouser button (at the time of loading the other ztool) I was unable to understand that the trouser button model, hidden among the clutter of old stuff, in the tool palette was in fact my entire model.
Thanks again. I guess I have a lot to learn
