Load exactly UI from desktop with 30" monitor to laptop 17"

Hello guys,

Newbie queation.
Why doesnt load ZB my settings from my desktop wit a 30" monitor in my laptop 17"

I can load the Materials, Colors and plug ins, but my custom UI such as brushes, materials and other I settings doesnt show like I see on my desktop.

Is there any problem?
What I can do to get my UI exactly as I see in it in my desktop?

Any advice I will appreciate.

Cheers!

Sorry! But why the replies was deleted?
One of the ZB users share with me where to put the UI interface file, but for some reason this was deleted.

My thank you to him too.

EDIT:
After the ZB user answer (dont remember her/his nick) I found this that may be useful for newbies.

http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/customizing-zbrush/user-content/
http://docs.pixologic.com/reference-guide/preferences/config/

Under the link below PIXOLOGIC!!! you need to change this or add the new Windows 10 path.

I guess this path is for windows 7
Users\Public\Documents\ZBrushData\ZStartup
The new path for windows 10 looks like:
Users\Public\Public Documents\ZBrushData\ZStartup

Really IMPORTANT is to have Public Documents and NOT just only Documents type on your path in windows 10.

Well after many many many many ³ attempts the conclusion is:

YOU CANT LOAD your Settings from a Desktop to your laptop.
Well this is bi big big ³ down. Not available to just copy and paste your setting from a desktop to a laptop it is not acceptable.

I need to re-do the whole interface on my laptop :o

@ Pixologic could you support me on this one?
Thank you! ³

Sure you can. All you need to do is copy your CustomUserInterface2018.cfg file from C:\Users\Public\Documents\ZBrushData2018\ZStartup

Put it in the same folder on your other machine.

The catch that you’re going to encounter is that going from a 30" display to a 17" display you probably have a significant difference in display resolution. This means that you’re likely to have stuff from the right side and bottom of the UI lost because those elements were placed on screen real estate that simply doesn’t exist on the smaller monitor.

Imagine that you’re living in a fully furnished 4 bedroom house but then move into a 2 bedroom apartment. Are you going to be able to keep all of your furniture? Is the fact that you can’t the fault of the architects? The same principle applies with screen space and UI layouts.

That being said, there is a trick that you can do with ZBrush – you can shrink your furniture! Use Preferences >> Interface >> UI >> Buttons Size to adjust the interface to compensate for the smaller resolution.

If the smallest setting is still too big for everything to be seen then you’ll need to work the opposite direction. Create your UI on the 17" display and copy it to your 30" machine.

Hi aurick,

Thank you for the support and the time you spend to explain me how ZB works.

Im a Windows and Mac user for a long long time now  and I know that some times moving from a 30" monitor to a 17" can be a problem.

I know also that ZB allows you to scroll all over to the left -> right and vise versa if you have a lot of functions in you customized UI.

My big big problem is that ZB is crashing on the laptop if load the settings from my desktop.
I know that if I start on my Laptop to customize then suppose to work on my desktop.
But why is crashing ZB on my Laptop when I try to load the settings from my desktop?

Is kind of weird. :o
Is this maybe a bug in ZB? I cant judge, because Im not a super ZB user. Maybe soon

Let me tried a couple of things again.

EDIT:
Hi aurick,

After a many attempts I was available to get it work.
Somehow the diferences on icon sizes was making troubles.
Maybe if this setting (icon size i.e. 38) can be also stored on the UI file so where ever you bring your settings the icon size is always the same.

If you like to have bigger icon size, then you can always change

Thank you for your support!
